YW Jewish Purim

A Couple of weeks ago for YW we celebrated Jewish Purim. It is when the Jews celebrate the courage of Queen Esther for her to go before the king and plead for her peoples' cause. For those that don't know, they dress up and wear mask's and walk around the church reading the story of Queen Esther and using noise makers to say "Yeah" everything Morticiah or Esther is mentioned, and Booing when Haman is mentioned. We started with making masks and then walked around the church, we got some pretty funny looks. We then came back and had traditional refreshments of Poppy seed cake and "Haman's hat's" which are dough folded around chocolate formed into a triangle like "hat". I learned a lot that I didn't know about the Jewish faith and had a lot of fun doing it!
