Happy Easter

So a lot of you know that we always have a big "thing" for Easter. This year was no exception. We even had a few unexpected guest from out of town, it was so wonderful to see Aunt Carol and Uncle Merrill and get to talk with them and find out how their family is doing!

We stuck with tradition and had a wonderful meal of ham, potatoes, salads, and of course deviled eggs (I put too much powdered mustard in them) so they were spicy but yummy. We finished off with Lemon-Lime Cupcakes and a Strawberry Whip Cream Cake to celebrate Hunters Birthday the next day! We has a lot of fun with an Easter Quest, they had to find their basket and them find a certain color of eggs and a certain number of other things! it was great!

Lemon-Lime Cupcakes

So for last couple of weeks I have wanted to make these cupcakes. I found some cute key limes at the grocery store and had to have them. What do you get when you take a basic Vanilla Cupcake and fill it with Lemon-Lime curd and top it with Sweet lemon-line frosting?? Heaven on earth, tart and sweet and yummy all in one bite! I loved these and so did almost everyone who tried them. In fact my mom wants the lemon-lime curd for her birthday!

The Curd just out of the fridge ready to put into the cupcakes.

After cutting out the centers of the cupcakes, I piped in the curd.

Then I piped on the frosting and finished them off with a little lemon and lime zest! Simply delicious!

Doesn't it look so cute on my plate!

Caught Up at last

So for weeks I have been trying to get caught up on my blogging. I think maybe I was a little depressed and way too busy to get to it, but today I am officially caught up. Even posted the pictures from the surprise birthday party for my uncle Greg that I attended this morning. There are several fun posts so please take a look and remember to tell me what you think! Here's to being caught up!

Uncle Greg's Suprise Birthday Party

This morning I went to my uncle Greg's work and we had a surprise 40th birthday party. He had one for my aunt Julie and this was payback for that. It was a lot of fun. They made a huge sign, here Julie and Aubrey are hanging it up.

Balloons and fun

Brooks was ready to eat!

Tatum is so cute.

Everyone waiting for him to come in.

Greg just coming in, he was totally surprised he didn't think anything would happen until Saturday
LaNece getting the kids dished up and ready to eat. Julie had Kneaders cater french toast and fresh fruit. It was yummy yummy.

YW Homemaking olympics

On Tuesday we had the Homemaking Olympics and had Fondue for refreshments. It was great to see the girls get excited and work together as a team. They had to sew a button on a shirt, iron the shirt, sort laundry, get a stain out of 2 pieces of kids clothing, grind wheat, and make butter. Everyone got involved and it was a lot of fun. It was Karley's birthday and we sang to her and put a candle in cream puff. It was a great night!

Birthday Dinner

My Cousin Connor is on a mission in West Virginia. He has been missing home lately and missing coming to birthday dinners at Grandma's house. So we decided to take pictures of everyone at birthday dinner and send them to him, so he will be with us without us.
